About Whey Protein

What is Whey?

Whey protein is a by-product of cheese manufacturing. It was once discarded as waste or used for animal feed, but later on was “re-discovered” by researchers and has been since regarded as one of the greatest foods for humans. The nutritional properties of whey are outstanding.

What makes it Non-Denatured Whey?

Our whey comes from the process of raw cheese making. The nutrients in milk are very heat sensitive and easily destroyed. The raw milk is only heated at 72 degrees c for 15 seconds then cooled to 7 degrees for the whey processing leaving all the beneficial micronutrients and amino acids in tact!

Why Grass Fed cows?

Whey from grass-fed cows has amazing properties and is nutritionally superior to conventional dairy products. Studies have shown that over-feeding starchy grains can affect the acidity of the cow’s stomach environment and change the fat and nutrient levels (1,2).

What’s the difference? Well, grain-fed beef may have an omega 6 to omega 3 ratio that is severely out of balance (sometimes as high as 20 to 1) — while grass-fed beef tends to have a better-balanced ratio (like 0.16 to 1). (3)

They have impressive amino acids and immuno supportive nutrient profiles and a unique fat composition. Grass fed animal food is known for its healthy fat content known as CLA. There is growing evidence to the immuno protective anti-cancerous properties of CLA (conjugated linoleic acid) that occurs in highest concentrations in dairy from grass fed cows. For comparison, grain-fed cows have as little as one-fifth the CLA in their milk as grass-fed (3).

Countless studies have shown that CLA has many potential health benefits. CLA is found exclusively in the dairy fat and thus do NOT exist in fat free dairy proteins such as whey protein isolate, skim milk or casein.

Contains a complete spectrum of immuno supportive anti-inflammatory and anti-cancerous compounds including alpha lacto globulins, glucomacropeptides, glutamylcysteine and lactoferrin – the same immuno compounds that are found naturally in human breast milk – responsible for providing the newborn with a complete immuno defense against bacterial and viral infections. The immuno-boosting properties of whey protein from grass fed cows have been widely documented. (D)

Other benefits of Whey Protein:

  • Contains all key amino acids and fragile immuno supportive whey components
  • Easily digestible, fast assimilating.
  • The lactic acid in Whey helps your body assimilate the use of calcium, phosphorus, potassium and magnesium.
  • Helps regulate intestinal flora.
  • Helps with Intestinal Laziness
  • The Protein in Whey is a form that your body can use easily.
  • Whey has all eight essential Amino Acids!
What are essential amino acids? There are twenty different amino acids; the eight that are essential are the ones that your body cannot produce on its own. You need all of the eight together to make a protein, not one can be missing.
  • Whey’s proteins are more utilization coefficient then milk, eggs, or meat. Utilization coefficient meaning the body’s ability to break the aminos down and build a protein with the least amount of waste (toxins). When your body has to break down aminos that are less usable it creates more toxins that the kidneys and skin will have to eliminate.
  • Studies show that the over all composition of whey is identical to that of the human body.
  • Promotes healthy immune system
  • Helps promote healthy urinary tract
  • Maintains healthy cholesterol levels already within the normal range
  • Maintains/promotes healthy blood sugar levels within the normal range
  • Relief of occasional fatigue, boosts energy levels
  • Alleviates bloating and symptoms referred to as gas
  • Promotes a healthy heart
  • Improves cognitive function
  • Maintains healthy blood pressure levels already within normal range
  • Relieves occasional Indigestion
  • Promotes healthy joints
  • Promotes healthy kidney functions
  • Supports healthy liver function
  • Promotes healthy skin
  • Promotes healthy diet which if there is any weight that needs to be lost can help facilitate this
  • Can raise Glutathione levels due to the Lacotferrin and Immunoglobulin not being destroyed by processing. Glutathione deficiency has two major implications: detox failure and viral/microbial activation. Glutathione plays a major role in detoxification pathways. This deficiency impairs the body’s ability to get rid of toxins, whether environmental or by-products of cellular metabolism.
